Our laboratory conducts chemical and physical examinations of soil and water samples.

Brief Description:

Our analytic emphasis is on soil physical parameters like granulometry, density and stability parameters of soils and soil aggregates, identification of water storage capacity and water conductivity in saturated and unsaturated soils and many more.

Within the range of chemical analytics we conduct those determinations in soil and water which are of significance to our projects.

All analyses are undertaken according to standard operating procedures or norms with internal quality management.

Aside from the standard analytical techniques, we also develop and test new methods.

Following physical and chemical measurements are conducted at the BAW-IKT:

In soil:

  • Soil texture
  • Identification of pF characteristics of soil
  • Saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity of soil
  • Soil density parameters (particle density, bulk density, pore volume, Proctor density)
  • Plasticity
  • Water content
  • Aggregate stability
  • pH-value
  • Total organic and inorganic carbon
  • Electrical conductivity
  • Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia

In water:

  • Total and dissolved phosphate
  • Electrical conductivity
  • pH-value
  • Total and dissolved organic carbon
  • Chloride, Nitrate, Sulfate, Ammonia
  • Suspended sediments

The analytical costs are regulated as set in the fares of the Federal Agencies issued by the Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management. At your request we can compile an estimate based on your needs.
