Course content: Trout aquaculture, ecology and management; carp pond management and recirculating system management; aquatic ecology, product processing and marketing; technical field trips.

Education is an essential element since the establishment of the institute; we provide courses in the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries. As a centre of excellence in fisheries, we conduct education for the apprenticeship as skilled worker in fisheries and as fishery master on behalf of the board of Agriculture. For a professional career of our graduates, we intend to provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge.

Course content: Introduction to electrofishing, electricity theory, first aid, effect of electric current on fish, electrofishing in practice, theoretical + practical implementation of an electrofishing, equipment knowledge and preparation for trips, fish keeping and transport, recognition of fish species, legal basis in state laws, safety, stock calculation.

The course serves to transfer knowledge of standardized survey methods for the determination of the ecological status of of running waters according to GZÜV (Water Condition Monitoring Ordinance).
