On September 6, 2024, experts and interested parties met in the "Trendpodium Landwirtschaft" exhibition hall at this year's Wels agricultural trade fair to present fish farming and its income opportunities in agriculture to an interested audience. The event offered exciting presentations on various aquaculture topics.
Martin Mayringer from LK Oberösterreich gave an overview of aquaculture in Austria and Augustine Spitzbart from the Office of the Upper Austrian Provincial Government presented funding opportunities.
Federal Agency-Employees Franz Lahnsteiner, Günther Gratzl and Elisabeth Peham then presented the respective specialist areas of aquaculture, such as trout farming, carp pond management and warm water recirculation systems. Florian Keil presented the various training opportunities in the field of aquaculture. The head of the Institute of Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries Management, Daniela Achleitner, moderated the entire event. This was followed by further discussions and information with visitors at the exhibition grounds.
