During the second project meeting held at the project partner WasserCluster Lunz in Lunz am See, the results to date from the ongoing phosphorus adsorption experiments were presented and discussed.
The focus of the meeting was on the initial experiments with various adsorption materials, which are being tested in batch tests and flow-through column experiments using phosphorus-containing water to determine the phosphorus adsorption capacity. In addition, drying and re-wetting experiments are being carried out under natural flow conditions to simulate various runoff conditions in the field and different water levels in water bodies dominated by agricultural activity.
Further experiments with new filter materials, as well as the planning of the field trials to be carried out next year, are scheduled for the next project phases.
