2026 Future Conference Visits the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory

On September 29, 2026, part of the annual Future Conference—held at the University of Agricultural and Environmental Education—took place for the first time at our Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Hydrometry.

At three stations, 150 students and their chaperones learned about current developments in hydraulic engineering regarding flood protection, ecology, and climate change.

Divided into eight groups, they attended presentations, took guided tours of the Hydraulics Laboratory, and had the opportunity to explore the interactions between morphology and water flow hands-on at our experimental flumes and to design their own river. Despite the late hour—the event lasted until 9:30 p.m.—everyone remained fully awake and engaged.
