Interreg CE Project INACO – Pilot site visit and training exercise at Siófok, HU

INACO is entering its final phase, and with it, key products and project outputs are nearing completion. Specifically, two web-based applications have been developed that can be useful in assessing the vulnerability of cultural and natural heritage sites to the risks of climate change.

These were recently tested and evaluated as part of a training exercise. The participation of external stakeholders was particularly valuable, and their feedback is now being incorporated into the improvement of the tools. Another focus was on developing disaster scripts and protocols for the risk management of cultural and natural heritage sites in the event of an emergency.

The training took place at the Hungarian project partners’ premises in Siófok on Lake Balaton. The intensive training days were interspersed with excursions to cultural heritage sites in the region, and the opportunity was also used for a brief internal project meeting.

As next steps, both tools will now be tested and evaluated by professional stakeholders at national events, as well as by interested laypeople through a citizen science approach.
