In March, the participants of the current master fishery economist cycle (2023-2026) successfully completed the fourth of a total of six specialist modules at the Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Fisheries Management. Numerous internal and external lecturers imparted their knowledge to the prospective masters of their guild in a practical and discussion-rich manner.
Module 4 of the master craftsman training covers a wide range of topics. It covered everything from the tax and legal aspects of agriculture and current market analysis to food hygiene, product development, processing, labeling and marketing, including scientific and nutritional insights.
With regard to the planning of salmonid plants, the candidates delved into aspects of nature conservation law as well as the (in)depths of water law and learned about the requirements for a plant permit.
In addition, the master craftsman candidates were able to present an impression of the status of their master craftsman work and hopefully take away enough constructive feedback for the busy months ahead.
As you can see, the title of the module “Processing, Marketing and Law” is almost too short given the wealth of relevant topics!
