On 10 April 2026, the 26th Austrian Climate Day, organised by the Climate Change Center Austria, took place at the University of Vienna. Sebastian Rath successfully participated with a poster on the topic ‘How plants cool – measurement and visualisation of evaporation performance’, which was developed as part of the Plants4Cooling project (Interreg ATCZ00093). Sebastian explained to interested visitors to the poster the mechanisms by which plants can cool, the components into which incoming solar energy is divided, and how humans can influence the perceptible warming of the environment through surface design. The focus here was on the stationary measuring system developed, which is being used as part of the Plants4Cooling project in Wolkersdorf and at the LFS Obersiebenbrunn. The event also served as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange among scientists on the topic of climate, enabling new contacts to be made.
