The challenges of our time are complex - and that is precisely why we need research that is practical, interdisciplinary and trend-setting. Our ministry is now starting the process for a new research program that will make research even more effective, visible and efficient.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
- Research that directly supports political decisions
- Close integration of practice, science & society
- Strong participation: experts from specialist departments, research institutions and practitioners play an active role in shaping the process
- Flexibility to address current challenges in an agile manner
- More visibility for research results to make knowledge more usable
All three institutes of our Federal Office were represented at the kick-off event for the workshop series “Shaping research for tomorrow” at the end of March. For us as a research-active office, it is a great opportunity to help shape the 2026-2030 research program and identify the most important research fields for the coming years. The diverse perspectives on the challenges associated with climate change open up new approaches and cooperation partners can be found for future projects.
