The international group “ET Hydrometry” develops important guidelines and manuals for hydrometry, which are made freely available via the WMO website. In addition, the group is involved in innovation support programs such as the HYDRO Hub and in building the capacity of national hydrological services, for example by promoting training and intercomparison measurements.
Silke Kainz from the Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Hydrometry is a member of the group and hosted the face-to-face meeting in Vienna from 30 June to 2 July 2025.
Highlights of the three-day intensive session included the development of the work plan, international technical exchange, a guided tour of the institute’s hydraulic engineering laboratory, and participation in the 30th anniversary celebration of the Federal Agency for Water Management at the Palmenhaus.
