BAW Research is a statutory body under public law within the Federal Agency for Water Management (in accordance with Section 5a of the Federal Offices Act, Federal Law Gazette I No. 83/2004, as amended by Federal Law Gazette I No. 31/2024 and announcement on December 15, 2024, in accordance with BGBl. II No. 359/2024).
As a legal entity, BAW Research cooperates with the Federal Agency for Water Management in soil and landscape water balance, water ecology, and fisheries management, with regard to hydraulic engineering issues, as well as current research questions on climate, renaturation, and food safety. BAW Research is financed by contract research and commissioned research, and its activities are not profit-oriented.
